Vulcan Grindrite 2100 is a medium-high organic content semi-synthetic grinding fluid recommended for ferrous and non-ferrous metals. Grindrite 2100 gives good finish to the part while providing extended wheel life. When Grindrite 2100 is diluted with water an extremely effective coolant is created that efficiently dissipates heat from the grinding operation. In addition this mixture provides rust protection to both the work piece and the equipment.
Grindrite 2100 is a biostable coolant. This is to say there is no biocide used in the formulation, but still has extremely high resistance against bacterial growth. As such Grindrite 2100 resists going rancid as compared to typical coolants. This results in better operator acceptance due to elimination of odors and the removal of the aggressive biocide.
Grindrite 2100 is based on a mineral oil lubricant. This lubricity is especially needed for slides and ways, which are not always sufficiently lubricated by total synthetic products. When mixed with water Grindrite 2100 gives a translucent solution with excellent long-term stability. Incorporation of an antifoam assures little or no foaming even at high speeds.
A 3% mixture of Grindrite 2100 in water is recommended for grinding.
