Cutrite Semi-Synthetic Series Metalworking Fluids from Cincinnati Vulcan

Cutrite is a state of the art semi-synthetic series of metalworking fluids that promise to be the best in the market. Not being based on traditional sulfonate emulsifier chemistry gives these products bio-stability. No biocides are used, yet bacteria do not proliferate. This makes for excellent operator acceptance, improved housekeeping and extended sump life. These products do not foam even under extreme pressures and flow rates making them ideal for high-speed grinding and high-pressure delivery systems.

The Cutrite Series is a medium-high organic content semi-synthetic metal working fluid recommended for moderate to heavy duty machining of ferrous and non-ferrous metals. Cutrite gives good finish to the part while providing extended tool life. When Cutrite is diluted with water an extremely effective coolant is created that efficiently dissipates heat from cutting and grinding. In addition this mixture provides rust protection to both the work piece and the equipment.

Cutrite is a biostable coolant. This is to say there is no biocide used in the formulation, but still has extremely high resistance against bacterial growth. As such Cutrite resists going rancid as compared to typical coolants. This results in better operator acceptance due to the elimination of odors and the removal of the aggressive biocide.

The Cutrite Series is based on a mineral oil lubricant. This lubricity is especially needed for slides and ways, which are not always sufficiently lubricated by total synthetic products. They contain extreme pressure additives. When mixed with water they give a translucent solution with excellent long-term stability. Incorporation of an antifoam assures little or no foaming even at high speeds.

A 5% dilution of Cutrite in water is suggested for milling, drilling and turning. A 3% mixture of Cutrite in water is recommended for grinding.
